YY/T 0596-2006 is the English-translated version of 医用剪.
YY/T 0596-2006 is a recommended Chinese medical device standard that brings surgical scissors together in one text. It fixes the names of the medical scissors, their types and basic dimensions, the requirements they have to meet and the test methods used, and it also covers the inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage.
The scissors within its scope are those used to cut dressings and human tissue. The standard consolidated and replaced the 1997 parts of the YY/T 0176 series, among them YY/T 0176.2-1997 to YY/T 0176.8-1997, YY/T 0176.11-1997 and YY/T 0176.12-1997.
It quotes YY/T 0176-2006. Issued on 19 June 2006, it has applied since 1 May 2007.
