YY/T 0512-2009 is the English-translated version of 外科植入物金属材料 α+β钛合金棒材显微组织的分类.

YY/T 0512-2009 is a recommended standard of the Chinese medical device and pharmaceutical industry covering alpha + beta titanium alloy bars used for surgical implants.

It names and classifies the microstructures of these bars by means of metallographic micrographs, showing both the ideal structures and the undesirable ones that can arise during processing.

It applies to bars whose diameter, or equivalent diameter, does not exceed 100 mm. Which microstructure is acceptable is decided in the light of the intended use of the implant material and of the related standards.

The standard is identical to ISO 20160-2006, it quotes ASTM E407-1999, and it is filed under CCS C35 and ICS 11.040.40.
