Scope
QC/T 926-2013 is the English-translated version of 轻型混合动力电动汽车(ISG型)用动力单元可靠性试验方法.
QC/T 926-2013 describes how to run reliability tests on the powertrain unit of light hybrid electric vehicles built around an integrated starter and generator (ISG).
It applies to M1, N1 and M2 vehicles with a maximum design total mass of no more than 3.5 t, and does not cover the idle start-stop function.
The method sets test conditions, an initial performance test, a cyclic reliability programme that combines engine speed steps with motor operation at peak power, rated power and rated generation, hourly records and inspections every 24 h, 96 h and 192 h, followed by a performance retest.
It also explains how faults are handled and states that the unit passes if it still runs normally after 400 h. Issued on 25 April 2013, it has applied since 1 September 2013.

Foreword
This Standard was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2009. The Appendixes A and B of this Standard are normative.
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the reliability test methods for powertrain unit of light-duty hybrid electric vehicle (ISG type).
This Standard is applicable to the powertrain unit for Type-M1, Type-N1 and Type-M2 hybrid electric vehicle (ISG type) with maximum design total mass no greater than 3.5t. This Standard is not applicable to the idle start-stop function.
2 Normative References
The following documents are essential to the application of this document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates indicated are applicable to this document; for the undated documents, only the latest version (including all the amendments) are applicable to this document.
GB/T 18297-2001 Performance Test Code for Road Vehicle Engines
GB/T 18488.2 Drive Motor System for Electric Vehicles - Part 2: Test Methods
GB/T 19055-2003 Reliability Test Methods for Motor Vehicle Engines
GB/T 19596 Terminology of Electric Vehicles
3 Terms and Definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 19596 and the following apply.
3.1 Hybrid control unit (HCU)
Controller for hybrid power system.
3.2 Integrated starter and generator (ISG)
A motor that integrates the starting and power generation functions.
4 Test Subjects and Conditions
4.1 Test subjects
4.2 Test conditions
4.2.1 The accuracy of the test instrument, measurement position, and calculation of test data shall conform to the relevant provisions of Clauses 4 and 5 in GB/T 18297-2001 and GB/T 18488.2.
4.2.2 The DC power supply can provide the power to the motor system, while can also absorb the feedback power from the motor system. The working voltage and frequency of the DC power supply can meet the test requirements.
4.2.6 According to the manufacturer's provisions, perform the function test against the system consisting of the powertrain unit and the accessories; the system can work normally.
5 Test Procedures
5.1 Test procedures
The test procedures can refer to Appendix A.
5.2 Test preparation
5.3 Initial test of performance
5.3.1 The engine throttle is fully open; set the motor load to the maximum electric power output. In the speed range of the engine, measure by successively changing the motor speed; appropriately distribute more than 8 measurement points; test the output torque of the engine at different speed points.
5.4 Reliability test
The reliability test shall be performed as per the Appendix B.
5.5 Inspection and maintenance
5.5.1 General
Inspection and maintenance shall be carried out according to the following requirements; but the contents and cycle may be appropriately increased and decreased. The inspection results and maintenance situations shall be recorded in detail.
5.5.3 Inspection records per 1h
5.5.3.1 Record per hour the reliability accumulative running time, powertrain unit output torque, engine speed, engine coolant outlet temperature, engine oil temperature, input DC bus voltage and current of the motor controller, voltage and current of each output phase of the motor controller, motor coolant outlet temperature (if the system contains the cooling device of the motor coolant); if the motor winding is equipped with a thermistor temperature sensor, then the operating temperature of the motor winding shall checked together.
5.5.3.2 After the cold start, the pre-heating time of the powertrain unit shall not be included int the reliability accumulative time.
5.5.4 Inspection and maintenance every 24h
5.5.4.1 The engine part shall be performed as per the 10.3 in GB/T 19055-2003.
5.5.5 Inspection and maintenance every 96h
Inspect and maintain the engine every 96h according to 10.4 in GB/T 19055-2003.
5.5.6 Inspection and maintenance every 192h
Inspect and maintain the engine every 192h according to 10.5 in GB/T 19055-2003.
5.6 Performance retest
The performance retest of the powertrain unit shall be carried out as per the 5.3.
The performance test against the engine and motor shall be carried out separately according to GB/T 18297-2001, GB/T 18488.2, and the performance report test items of the manufacturer.
6 Fault Treatment
6.1 When the test needs to be interrupted due to the fault, if the powertrain unit is checked for no hardware damage, restart the powertrain unit, the system operates normally, then the test can be continued. The downtime shall not include in the running time of the powertrain unit. If the downtime exceeds 1h, restart the first cycle with time not including in the running time of the powertrain unit; the time shall be counted from the second cycle.
7 Assessment Criteria
If the hybrid powertrain assembly can operate normally after 400h reliability test, then its performance can meet the technical requirements provided by the manufacturer.
Appendix A (Normative)
Test Procedures The test procedures can refer to Figure A.1.
Appendix B (Normative) Reliability Test Program of Powertrain Unit
B.1 The engine throttle is fully open; speed is uniformly raised from nM to nP for 90s; during this period, the motor runs for 30s at the peak electric power; then runs for 60s at the rated electric power.
B.2 The engine runs stably at the speed nP for 210s; during this period, the motor runs at the rated power generation for 10s, runs for 10s at the rated electric power, then runs for 10s at the rated power generation; cycles repeatedly.
B.3 The engine speed is uniformly reduced to the speed nM for 90s; during this period, the motor runs at the rated power generation.
B.4 The engine runs stably at the speed nM for 210s; during this period, the motor runs for 10s at the rated power generation, runs for 10s at the rated electric power, then runs for 10s at the rated power generation; cycles repeatedly. […]
