Scope

QC/T 661-2019 is the English-translated version of 汽车空调用液气分离器.

QC/T 661-2019 covers accumulators for automobile air conditioning systems, specifying technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage.

It replaces QC/T 661-2000 and applies to accumulators for air conditioners using HFC-134a and HFO-1234yf as refrigerants, while units for other refrigerants may refer to it.

The accumulator separates liquid and gaseous refrigerant, returns compressor oil, filters residual impurities, adsorbs residual moisture and stores refrigerant; pressures are absolute, in MPa or kPa.

Clause 4 fixes the limits: refrigerant leakage not greater than 2 g/y at a detection pressure of 2.0 MPa, checked with dry helium of at least 75% purity held for not less than 15 seconds; no leakage or obvious deformation at 2.5 MPa and no rupture at 3.5 MPa; a pressure rise of not more than 0.5 kPa in 30 minutes after evacuation; internal impurity content not greater than 2.7 mg/dm2 of internal surface, solid particles no larger than 0.5 mm x 0.5 mm x 1.0 mm and fibres no longer than 1.0 mm; desiccant water absorption not less than 15% and residual moisture not greater than 2.0%; pressure loss between inlet and outlet not greater than 15 kPa; outlet vapour content not less than 85%.

Endurance clauses add high and low temperature, temperature alternation, vibration, pressure alternation from 160 kPa to 1720 kPa at 1.0 Hz plus or minus 0.5 Hz for 150000 cycles, and a 20-day SWAAT salt spray test to ASTM G85 A3.

6.1 Exit-factory inspection

According to 4.2 exit-factory inspection, the sampling plan and acceptance quality level shall be determined, by negotiation between the supplier and the buyer.

6.2 Type inspection

6.2.1 When the accumulator falls into one of the following situations, type inspection shall be carried out:

a) During new product identification;

b) After mass production, if there are major changes in materials and process structures or changes in the production site, which may affect product performance;

c) After normal mass production, one year has passed since the last type inspection;

d) When the production is resumed after more than one year of suspension.

6.2.2 Type inspection covers all test items of this standard (or is conducted as required by agreement between the supplier and the buyer). Samples are randomly selected from qualified products; the number of samples for each test item is no less than 3. It is allowed to use the same sample to conduct tests on different items that do not affect the assessment. Please refer to Table 1, for type inspection items and requirements.
