Scope
QC/T 643-2000 is the English-translated version of 车辆用密封条的污染性试验方法.
QC/T 643-2000 describes how to check whether rubber or plastic weatherstrips used on vehicle doors and windows stain the painted surfaces they touch. Specimens are placed against a white ceramic test plate, and the plate is then examined for contamination.
Two procedures are given: method A clamps the specimen between two plates under load in a constant-temperature chamber and then exposes the plates in a climatometer, while method B tapes the specimen to a plate and exposes it directly, followed by a second exposure.
The text lists the instruments, cleaning materials such as anhydrous ethanol and white silk cloth, specimen preparation and the evaluation of results. It continues GB/T 12426-1990 under an automotive industry number. Issued on 21 July 1990, it has applied since 1 May 1991.

1 Subject contents and scope of application
This standard specifies a test method for the staining of a white test plate by vulcanized rubber or plastic specimens, after exposure in a climatometer for a certain period of time.
This standard applies to the staining test of rubber and plastic sealing strips used in vehicle doors and windows.
2 Method principle
This method involves observing the degree of contamination on the surface of a white test plate, when the rubber or plastic specimen comes into contact with it.
3 Instruments and equipment
3.3 White test plate. Grade I white ceramic tile, 150 mm × 150 mm.
3.1 Constant Temperature Chamber 80 ± 2 °C
3.2 Climatometer
3.4 Load. 4.41 N (0.45 kg)
4 Materials
4.3 Adhesive tape or cloth that does not affect the test results.
4.1 Anhydrous ethanol or detergent gasoline
4.2 Clean white silk cloth
5 Specimens
Take two 100 mm long specimens from the product, or two specimens with a thickness of 2 mm that are equivalent to the product's molding process.
6 Test methods
6.1 Method A heating contamination test. a. Clean the white test plate with a white silk cloth soaked in ethanol or gasoline; b. Clamp the specimen between two test plates as shown in Figure 1; apply a load of 4.41 N (0.45 kg); then place it in a constant temperature chamber pre-set to 80 ± 2 °C; c. After placing in the constant temperature chamber for 24 h, immediately remove the specimen; rinse the surface of the test plate with clean water; check for contamination; d. After inspection, place the test plate in a climate test apparatus and expose it at 63 ± 3 °C for 16 h; e. After exposure, rinse the surface of the test plate and check for contamination.
6.2 Method B exposure contamination test. a. Clean the white test plate with a white silk cloth soaked in ethanol or gasoline; b. Place the specimen flat on the white test plate; secure it with adhesive tape or adhesive strip; place it in a climate instrument for exposure at 63 ± 3 °C for 100 h (single exposure); c. Remove the exposed specimen; rinse the test plate surface with clean water; check for contamination; d. After inspection, place the test plate back into the climate instrument for exposure at 63 ± 3 °C for 16 h (second exposure); e. After exposure, rinse the test plate surface with clean water and check for contamination. […]
