This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for motor vehicles power cylinder.
This standard is applicable to independent power cylinders in hydraulic power steering devices of motor vehicles.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this standard, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 5179 and GB/T 17446 and the following apply.
3.1 maximum operating pressure
pmax maximum pressure borne by the power cylinder during operation, in MPa
3.2 minimum breakaway pressure
minimum pressure required for the start of power cylinder, in MPa
3.3 maximum stroke
displacement distance of power cylinder piston from one limit position to another limit position
3.4 load efficiency
ratio of actual output force to theoretical output force
3.5 minimum compression length
minimum length between the connecting centers at both ends of the power cylinder
