Scope
QC/T 209-2007 is the English-translated version of 汽车、摩托车用软轴.
Flexible shafts used on cars and motorcycles are the subject of QC/T 209-2007, a recommended standard of the Chinese automobile industry. It fixes the structure and the installation dimensions of the shaft, the requirements it has to satisfy, and the test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, storage and safekeeping that go with it.
The standard is written for the flexible shafts that drive a speedometer or a tachometer on a car or a motorcycle. Its provisions rest on GB/T 191, GB/T 2828.1, GB/T 8170 and QC/T 238, and it carries the classifications T39 and 43.040.30.
It replaces QC/T 209-1996. Issued on 14 November 2007, it has applied since 1 May 2008.
