Scope

QC/T 1206.2-2024 is the English-translated version of 电动汽车动力蓄电池热管理系统 第2部分:液冷系统.

QC/T 1206.2-2024 covers liquid cooling systems for electric vehicle traction batteries, Part 2 of the QC/T 1206 series on battery thermal management; QC/T 1206.1-2024 holds the general requirements.

It specifies technical requirements and test methods, and is aimed at the development and testing of the liquid cooling system and its components, that is the liquid cooling plate, the cooling pipes, the joints and the water inlet and outlet assembly.

Flow resistance shall meet the manufacturer's figures. Sealing may be shown three ways: a wet test with no visible bubbles, a dry test leaking no more than 2.5 mL/min, or a helium test with a leak rate no greater than 2 x 10^-6 Pa m3/s.

Non-metallic parts shall reach grade HB of GB/T 2408-2021 in the horizontal burning test.

The pressure resistance test admits gas of at least 250 kPa and keeps the system under water for 1 h, with deformation limited to 10% of the original size; the welding strength test pulls a cold plate joint to 500 N and allows no cracking; vibration follows 8.2.1 of GB 38031-2020 and is followed by a sealing check.

Other tests cycle the coolant pressure between 30 kPa and 200 kPa at 45 degrees C plus or minus 2 degrees C, hold -(90 plus or minus 2) kPa for 60 s five times, plug and unplug a joint 20 times at 205 kPa, and measure joint installation and pull-off force at 50 mm/min plus or minus 5 mm/min.
