Scope
QC/T 1048-2016 is the English-translated version of 客车应急锤.
QC/T 1048-2016 covers the emergency hammer carried on buses, used to break emergency-window tempered glass so passengers can escape. It gives technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transport and storage provisions.
The hammer has a head, handle, bracket and alarm device; it must be red and burr-free, measure at least 130 mm from tip to handle centre, and sit 1000 mm to 1700 mm above the floor.
Tests cover 24 h storage at (-40 ±2) °C, a 1.5 m drop after which the head must not deform and the alarm must work, flame retardancy to GB 8410, and alarm level measured with a Class 1 sound level meter.
It applies to hammers for M2 and M3 buses, other types referring to it. It was issued on 5 April 2016 and took effect on 1 September 2016.

This Standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Structure and drafting of standards".
This Standard does not involve patents.
1 Scope
This Standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules as well as marks, packaging, transport, storage of bus emergency hammer.
This Standard is applicable to bus emergency hammer used for M2, M3 buses.
The emergency hammer used by other type bus shall refer to this Standard for implementation.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.
3.1 Bus emergency hammer
in the event of an emergency, it is convenient to remove and crush the emergency window tempered glass for easy escape; it consists of hammer head, hammer handle, bracket, alarm device, etc. (see Figure 1)
4 Technical requirements
4.1 General requirements
4.1.4 The materials used for emergency hammers shall meet the requirements of GB/T 30512.
4.1.5 There shall be no flash burrs around the emergency hammer and the surface shall be rustproof.
4.1.6 The Emergency hammer handle, bracket shall be free of flash burrs. The surface is flat and smooth, without deformation. The color shall be red, no color difference, which can withstand slight-acid, slight-alkali.
4.1.7 The emergency hammer head and handle shall be assembled tightly and firmly.
4.1.1 General requirements
The bus emergency hammer (hereinafter referred to as "emergency hammer) shall meet the requirements of this Standard. It shall be manufactured in accordance with product drawings and technical documents approved by the prescribed procedures.
4.2 Size and quality requirements
4.2.1 The distance from the tip of the emergency hammer to the center of the hammer handle is l>=130mm. The inner part of the hammer handle is l1 >=85mm (see Figure 1).
4.3 Installation requirements
4.3.1 The emergency hammer is usually placed in the bracket. The bracket shall be installed adjacent to the emergency window and easy to see and access.
The installation height is 1000mm ~ 1700mm above the floor surface of the vehicle.
4.4 Temperature resistance
4.4.1 Low temperature resistance
The emergency hammer (including the bracket) shall be in accordance with the low temperature storage test requirements of 5.1.1.1 of GB/T 28046.4-2011. At a low temperature of (-40±2)°C, perform according to the test method specified in Test Ab of GB/T 2423 for 24h. After the low temperature storage test, its functional status shall meet the Class C requirements of GB/T 28046.1-2011.
4.5 Low temperature drop resistance
The emergency hammer (including the bracket) shall be subjected to the 1.5 m drop test according to the test conditions in Table 1.After the test, the emergency hammer head shall be free of deformation and no falling off. The tip of the hammer head shall be unchanged. The emergency hammer shall not be cracked or loosened. The alarm device shall work normally.
5 Test methods
5.1 Flame retardancy test
The flame retardancy test of non-metallic materials is carried out in accordance with the provisions of GB 8410.
5.3 Alarm device test
5.3.1 Remove the emergency hammer from the fixed bracket. The alarm device shall sound an audible alarm. Use sound level meter to test. The test results shall comply with the requirements of 4.1.9.
5.3.2 The sound level meter for measurement shall meet the requirements of the Class 1 sound level meter specified in GB/T 3785.1."A" frequency weighting characteristics and "F" time weighting characteristics shall be used for measurement. Before and after measurement, the sound level meter shall be calibrated according to the manufacturer's specifications by using a Class 1 acoustic calibrator in accordance with GB/T 15173.
5.3.5 When measuring, record the maximum sound level displayed by the sound level meter of each measurement point. Take the maximum of the measurements of three measurement points as the final measurement result.
5.3.6 When the difference between the measured sample alarm sound and the background noise is greater than or equal to 10 dB(A), the measured value is not corrected. When the difference between the measured sample alarm sound and the background noise is less than 3 dB(A), the measured value is invalid.
When the difference between the measured sample alarm sound and the background noise is 3dB(A) ~ 9dB(A), the measured value shall be subtracted from the correction value in Table 2.
6 Inspection rules
6.1 Inspection classification
The inspection of emergency hammer is divided into exit-factory inspection and type inspection.
6.3 Type inspection
6.3.1 Type inspection shall be performed in one of the following situations.
6.3.4 Type inspection items shall all meet the requirements. If there are unqualified items, double the number of samples shall be taken to re-inspect the unqualified items. If there is still unqualified item, this batch of products shall be determined as unqualified.
7 Marks, packaging, transport, storage
