QC/T 1023-2015 sets out the general requirements for the traction battery system of an electric vehicle: the pack model code, the requirements, the assembly, the component interfaces, the test methods and the marking.

Clause 3 defines the traction battery, or battery box, the traction battery pack, and the swapping pack, which can be fitted in typically no more than five minutes and charged off the vehicle.

Clause 5 asks the system to collect and transmit information and monitor safety, to deliver at least the energy the manufacturer declares and a capacity between that nominal value and 110% of it, to reach IP55 or better, to limit discharge power on overcurrent and overtemperature, and to keep power line connectors at IP67.

Clause 8 runs the high temperature work test at 55 °C for 16 h and vibration from 10 Hz to 55 Hz at a maximum acceleration of 30 m/s², ten sweep cycles per axis at 1 oct/min. Issued on 10 October 2015, it has applied since 1 March 2016.
