QB/T 5274-2026 deals with graphical symbols for the control panels of sewing machinery. These are the pictorial operating symbols shown on the panel of a machine so that the operator can recognise a function without reading words. It is a basic standard, which means that it provides common symbols for use across machines instead of describing one product. The document is therefore a reference that machine designers and panel makers can share when they mark the controls of their equipment.

Sewing machine manufacturers, control panel and electronics suppliers, designers of user interfaces, and the buyers and operators of the machines would use it. The standard is voluntary, as the /T in its code shows. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it on 13 February 2026, and it takes effect on 1 September 2026. It replaces the 2018 edition, QB/T 5274-2018.
