Manholes and handholes fitted to boiler sets are the subject of NB/T 47040-2013, a recommended energy industry standard of China. It sets the basic structural types of these openings and the technical requirements they have to meet. Its provisions apply to manholes and handholes on boiler units whose rated pressure is 3.8 MPa or less. The standard carries the Chinese classification J98 and the international classification 27.060, and it cites GB/T 9222, GB/T 16508 and TSG G0001-2012.
