NB/T 31087-2016 is the English-translated version of 风电场项目环境影响评价技术规范.

NB/T 31087-2016 is the recommended Chinese energy industry standard setting the technical rules for the environmental impact assessment of wind farm projects. It governs how the environmental effects of a wind farm are surveyed, predicted and reported when the project is put forward for approval.

Its Chinese classification P61 places it with power engineering construction rather than with the turbines themselves, so the site, the works and their surroundings are what it concerns.

The environmental protection documents it calls up are HJ 2.1, HJ 2.2, HJ/T 2.3, HJ 2.4 and HJ 19, which cover the general technical guidelines for impact assessment together with the atmospheric, surface water, noise and ecological chapters, alongside the wind power document NB/T 31011. Issued on 7 January 2016, it has applied since 1 June 2016.
