NB/T 20372-2016 is the English-translated version of 压水堆核电厂反应堆控制棒驱动机构安装技术规程.

NB/T 20372-2016 is the Chinese energy industry standard for installing the reactor control rod drive mechanism during the erection stage of a pressurized water reactor nuclear power plant.

It gives the basic requirements for that work. The mechanisms in view are of the stepping magnetic lifting type, with a trapezoidal thread and with the drive mechanism joined to its tube seat by a CANOPY seal weld.

The work covered runs from assembly, welding and hydrostatic testing of the pressure housing and its latch assembly, through fitting the insulation sleeve, coil assembly and rod position detector on the CRDM header of the reactor pressure vessel, to installing the drive rod assembly on the reactor internals.

It is used with NB/T 20233, HAF 602, HAF 603 and HAD 003/04. Issued on 5 February 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
