Part 8 of the NB/T 20005 series, NB/T 20005.8-2012 is a recommended energy industry standard of China for the carbon steel and low alloy steel plates, section steel and bars used in Class S1 and S2 supports of pressurized water reactor nuclear power plants.

It sets out the technical requirements for the manufacture, testing, inspection and acceptance of these products. It applies to load-bearing steel for S1 and S2 class supports, with plate of thickness up to 150 mm and bar up to 100 mm in diameter or thickness.

The documents it calls up include GB/T 700 and GB/T 1591, GB/T 228.1-2010, GB/T 229 and GB/T 232, and NB/T 20003.2-2010. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.
