Scope

NB/T 11260-2023 is the English-translated version of 煤矸石中硅、铝、铁、钙、镁、钠、钾、磷、钛、锰含量的测定 X 射线荧光光谱法.

NB/T 11260-2023 is an energy industry test method that measures ten major elements in coal gangue by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry: silicon, aluminium, iron, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, phosphorus, titanium and manganese.

The gangue is first ashed, then fused with anhydrous lithium tetraborate and lithium metaborate flux, with lithium nitrate as oxidant and lithium bromide as release agent, to make glass beads.

Element contents are calculated from fluorescence intensities using calibration curves built on certified reference materials such as coal ash. The document also covers instruments, sample preparation, the test procedure, calculation and expression of results, and precision. Issued on 26 May 2023, it has applied since 26 November 2023.

3 Terms and definitions

There are no terms or definitions to be defined in this document.

4 Method summary

The coal gangue is ashed and then melted with flux to make sample pieces. After the sample is irradiated by primary X-rays, the atoms of the element to be measured emit X-rays

Fluorescence, measuring the X-ray fluorescence intensity of the element to be measured through a detector, based on the quantitative relationship between the X-ray fluorescence intensity and content of the element to be measured

System, apply the calibration curve or appropriate mathematical correction mode to calculate the content of the element to be measured.

5 Reagents and materials

Unless otherwise stated, only reagents confirmed to be of analytical grade or above and grade three or above that comply with GB/T 6682 are used in the analysis. Distilled water or water of equivalent purity.

5.1 Detector gas. The gas composition is 90% argon and 10% methane, other compositions can also be used.

5.2 Fluxing agent. anhydrous lithium tetraborate and anhydrous lithium metaborate, both of which are excellent grade pure and need to be burned at 200°C for 2 hours before use.

5.3 Oxidizing agent. lithium nitrate.

5.4 Release agent. lithium bromide.

5.5 Standard sample. Commercially available certified standard sample. Including but not limited to certified coal ash, gangue lime composition standard materials or matching the sample matrix A mixture of pure chemicals.
