Scope
NB/T 11105-2023 is the English-translated version of 煤层气数值模拟技术规范.
NB/T 11105-2023 lays down the content, technical requirements and basic workflow for numerical simulation of coalbed methane.
It walks through collection and analysis of basic data, model building for single wells, well groups or blocks, initialization, sensitivity analysis, history matching of gas, water and pressure data, and dynamic forecasting of production, reservoir pressure, remaining gas content and recovery.
Requirements for the simulation results follow, and informative annexes list model types with their applicable conditions and history matching parameters with their adjustable ranges.
Written for coalbed methane studies, it may also serve as a reference for other unconventional gas reservoirs. Issued on 6 February 2023, it has applied since 6 August 2023.

Foreword
This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1. Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting.
1 Scope
This document specifies the content, technical requirements and basic process of coalbed methane numerical simulation.
This document is applicable to the application research of coalbed methane numerical simulation, and other unconventional gas reservoirs can be used as a reference.
2 Normative references
The contents of the following documents constitute the essential provisions of this document through normative references in the text. Among them, dated references For documents, only the version corresponding to the date is applicable to this document; for undated reference documents, the latest version (including all amendments) is applicable to this document.

3 Terms and Definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Coalbed methane numerical simulation
Based on the geological understanding and development rules of coalbed methane, special software (called numerical simulator) is used to simulate the desorption and expansion of coalbed methane in coal reservoirs.
According to the distribution, gas-water seepage and production, the obtained reservoir parameters and production data (or test production data) are fitted and matched, and then the gas-water production, gas-water production, and Dynamic changes of pressure and coal reservoir parameters.
3.2 Dynamic forecasting
On the basis of acceptable historical fitting accuracy of coalbed methane well drainage data, under a certain development mode, the daily water production of coalbed methane wells can be predicted.
The process of developing dynamic indicators such as gas production, daily gas production, cumulative water production, cumulative gas production, coal reservoir pressure, remaining gas content, recovery degree, etc.
4 General
4.1 Basic process of CBM numerical simulation
The basic process of CBM numerical simulation is shown in Fig. 1, including the following process.
a) Collection, collation and analysis of basic data;
b) Model establishment. according to the main problems faced in different exploration and development stages, formulate reasonable research objectives, and establish single well and well group or block model;
c) Initialization. check the balance of the established CBM model;
d) Sensitivity analysis. it is used to determine the sensitivity of different gas reservoir parameters to the objective function within a specific range of values, and it is used for subsequent historical simulation. Provide a basis for the adjustment of joint parameters;
e) History matching. under the premise of production data, by fitting indicators such as gas production, water production, pressure, etc:, the model calculation and actual gas
