Scope

NB/T 10528-2021 is the English-translated version of 煤矿老空区普查技术规范.

NB/T 10528-2021 is the Chinese energy industry specification for surveying old goaf areas left by coal mining, including abandoned small pits and wells.

It classifies the basic types of old goaf, the complexity of survey conditions and the survey levels, then gives requirements for remote sensing interpretation, ground survey and mapping, and geophysical exploration by electrical, seismic, radioactive, high-precision gravity and cross-hole CT methods.

Drilling verification, evaluation of water accumulated in old workings with calculation of its volume, gas disposal and the final results report are also covered, with annexes on method selection and typical geophysical anomalies.

Coal mining enterprises use it for disaster prevention and government bodies for land planning. It was issued on 7 January 2021 and has applied since 1 April 2021.

Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the general principles of census work in old coal mines, remote sensing interpretation, ground survey and mapping, geophysical exploration, drilling verification, Basic requirements for old empty water evaluation and achievement report preparation.

This standard is applicable to the special census work of old empty areas for coal mining enterprise disaster prevention and government land planning.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Caving zone

The range of rock formations in which the overlying strata fractured and collapsed into the gob caused by coal mining.

[Detailed rules for water prevention and control in coal mines (Notice of the State Coal Mine Safety Supervision Bureau on Printing and Distributing the "Detailed Rules for Water Prevention and Control in Coal Mine", Coal Safety Supervision Investigation [2018] 14 No.) Chapter VIII Supplementary Provisions, Article 137].

3.2 Water-conducting fractured zone

The rock strata within a certain range above the coal seam have collapsed and fractured, resulting in a cracked and water-conducting rock stratum range.

3.3 Bending subsidence zone

The strata above the water-conducting fracture zone create a range of curved subsidence.

3.4 Gob

Space that is no longer maintained after coal mining.

3.5 Old small coal pit

Small coal mine goaf with long mining history and missing data.

3.6 Old goaf area

The general term for goafs, small kilns and abandoned wells.
