Scope

NB/T 10418-2020 is the English-translated version of 空气源热泵粮食烘干机.

NB/T 10418-2020 is the Chinese energy industry product standard for grain dryers heated by air-source heat pumps, used for maize, wheat, rice and rapeseed. It divides dryers into recirculating and continuous-flow types, and into closed, open and semi-open designs by the way the heat pump uses air, and sets their model coding and main parameters.

Requirements cover hot air and grain temperature limits, performance indices, assembly, appearance and coating quality, electrical control and insulation, reliability of use of at least 98 %, and guards, safety signs and alarm devices.

Test methods for throughput, drying rate, specific moisture loss and specific electricity consumption follow, along with inspection rules, marking, packaging, transport and storage. Issued on 23 October 2020, it has applied since 1 February 2021.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions defined in GB/T 14095 apply to this document.

3.1 Air-source heat pump dryer for grain

The air source heat pump is used as the heat source to evaporate the moisture in the grain to reach the required moisture. It is also called the air source heat pump grain dryer.

3.2 Continuous flow dryer for grain

The grain passes through the dryer uninterruptedly and drops to the required moisture at a time without circulating drying equipment.

3.3 Recirculation dryer for grain

Drying equipment that performs multiple cycles of drying until the grain reaches the required moisture.

3.4 Throughput

The quality of the wet grain that requires moisture is reduced to the wet grain quality by one-time drying by a continuous dryer in a unit time.

3.5 Batch throughput

The quality of wet grain filled at one time according to the effective volume of the circulating dryer before drying.

3.6 Drying rate

The change value of grain moisture per unit time after repeated drying.

3.7 Specific moisture loss

The water lost per unit time in the process from the beginning of drying to the discharge of dry food.

3.8 Specific electric consumption

During the drying process, the total electricity consumed by the dryer, air source heat pump and auxiliary electric heating for every kilogram of water evaporated from the grain.

4 Classification and coding

4.1 Classification

4.1.1 According to the type of dryer, it is divided into circulation type and continuous type.
