Scope

NB/T 10332-2019 is the English-translated version of 碾压混凝土重力坝设计规范.

NB/T 10332-2019 is the Chinese energy industry design code for roller-compacted concrete gravity dams built on rock foundations in new, rebuilt or extended hydropower projects.

It classes dams as low, medium or high by height, with 30 m and 70 m as the limits, and calls for special studies above 200 m.

Chapters cover dam layout, RCC materials and standard values of their properties, section design, seepage control and concrete zoning, joints, galleries, waterstops and drainage, crack prevention and temperature control, safety monitoring, construction requirements, first impoundment and operation and maintenance.

Hydraulic and foundation design are referred to NB/T 35026. Issued on 30 December 2019, it has applied since 1 July 2020.
