Scope

NB/T 10291-2019 is the English-translated version of 加热空气用日用管状电热元件等效加速寿命试验方法.

NB/T 10291-2019 provides an equivalent accelerated life test for metal-sheathed tubular heating elements that heat air in household appliances, rated at up to 480 V and 6 000 W per tube and working in still or moving air, directly or through fins.

Instead of lengthy life tests under design conditions, it raises test stress without changing the failure mechanism so that element life can be predicted in a short time.

The document explains the failure analysis and design principle of the test, the data the manufacturer must supply, the regulated power supply, on-off cycling, working condition simulation and measuring equipment required, and the test conditions, with elements judged by leakage current and electric strength at working temperature.

An annex lists limiting working temperatures of common component materials. Issued on 4 November 2019, it has applied since 1 May 2020.

3.2 Daily-use metallic tube electric heating elements

The metal tube is used as the shell, the alloy heating wire is used as the heating element, and the dense magnesium oxide powder or similar insulator is used as the insulating medium between the two.

And through the lead rod connected to the power supply for heating element.

3.3 Predefined working condition

In the life test, the material of the component undergoes continuous oxidation and shedding and other failure mechanisms, which aggravate these defects and gradually deteriorate the performance of the component.

Retreat. The heating wire and insulating medium deteriorate, age, fuse, and decrease the electrical insulation in the high temperature environment and electrical shock of the test, which are important components Failure mode.

4.2 Design principle of accelerated life test

Accelerated life test by increasing test stress, strengthening test conditions, amplifying failure factors, quickly exposing the defects of components, in a shorter time Within time, it is predicted whether the components can meet the designed life requirements.
