1 Scope

This document provides information on the framework system, planning, design, implementation and management that should be followed for the sustainable management of national reserve forests.

This document is applicable to guide the construction and management of national reserve forests such as artificial arbor forests and moso bamboo forests of forest management units.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

target stand Cultivate the target state of the forest.

Note. With the overall goal of a healthy, stable and high-value forest ecosystem, through tree species composition, age class structure, forest layer structure, stand density, target diameter at breast height (or training growth cycle), storage volume per unit area, growth volume, renewal method and other indicators.

In order to facilitate forest management, the forest natural development process and management characteristics are combined and divided into stages.

Note. It includes 5 stages of colonization, competitive growth, quality selection, near-natural forest and continuous forest.

Based on the concept of conforming to nature and giving full play to the synergy between man and nature, the whole cultivation process from the establishment of the colony to the realization of the target forest stand is carried out according to the development of the forest.

Stage integrated design and implementation to cultivate a stable, healthy and efficient forest management model that is similar to the potential natural forest vegetation.
