This part is the 10th part of LY/T 1662.

This section refers to ISO 19115:2003 "Geographic Information Metadata" and the Federal Geographic Data Committee's FGDC-STD-001-1998 "Geographic Data Standards for Geospatial Data".

1 Scope

This part of LY/T 1662 defines the information needed to describe data sets and provide information services in digital forestry.

Identification, quality, spatial representation, spatial reference, content, data distribution, metadata reference, and references, time, and contact information.

This section applies to the description of data sets and information exchange network services in digital forestry.

The metadata in this section is divided into two levels, namely core metadata and detailed metadata. Core metadata defines the most critical of the data set information. On the basis of core metadata, fully consider the characteristics of various types of data in digital forestry and establish the need to meet the needs of digital forestry construction Detailed metadata. The user can select the metadata content according to the specific needs and the actual situation of the data, and establish the corresponding level of the number of elements.

2 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this section.

A collection of data that can be identified. The data set can be either a database or a (logical component) part of the database.

Data about data, used to describe the content, coverage, quality, management style, owner of the data, and how the data is provided and other relevant information.

The basic unit of metadata.

A collection of metadata elements that describe the same characteristics of the data. A metadata entity can be a single entity or it can include one or more the aggregate entity of the entity.

A general term for a plane coordinate system and a vertical coordinate system that determine the location of a geographic target space.
