Scope

JC/T 673-1997 is the English-translated version of 汽车后窗电热玻璃性能试验方法.

JC/T 673-1997 sets out how to test the electrically heated glass of car rear windows - the glazing with heating wires that clears mist and frost. Glass makers and vehicle manufacturers use it in design verification and in production, so that the optical quality, electrical performance and durability of a heated backlight are measured the same way by supplier and buyer. It covers sixteen tests: transmittance, opacity rate of the heating lines, resistance to cleaning agents, welding strength and bending resistance of the electric insert (the terminal welded to the bus bar), power, defrosting efficiency, overvoltage resistance, hot spot temperature, electrothermal impact, salt spray, wear of the heating wire, moisture resistance, durability, impact resistance and fragment state. It defines opacity rate, heating zone and electric insert, and refers to the GB 5137 test methods for automotive safety glazing. Issued by the State Bureau of Building Materials Industry on 5 August 1997, it has applied since 1 January 1998.

Foreword

This document was issued on 5 August 1997 by the State Bureau of Building Materials Industry, and has applied since 1 January 1998.

It is a JC/T standard: a recommended industry standard of China's building materials industry, which covers glass.

1 Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for transmittance, opacity rate, resistance to cleaning agent, welding strength of electric insert, bending resistance of electric insert, power, defrosting efficiency, overvoltage resistance, hot spot temperature, electrothermal impact resistance, salt spray resistance, wear resistance of electric heating wire, moisture resistance, durability, impact resistance and fragment state of electric heating glass for automobile rear windshield, and is applicable to performance testing and design verification of various types of automobile electric heating glass.

2 Normative references

3 Terms

3.1 opacity rate: ratio of the opaque area caused by electric heating wire to the area of the entire heating zone on the electric heating glass

3.2 heating zone: a closed surface formed by the topmost and the nethermost electric heating wires and one of the left and right bus bars respectively

3.3 electric insert: a metal sheet that is welded to the bus bar of the electric heating glass and connected to power supply
