JB/T 9970-1999 is a recommended machinery industry standard of China that fixes noise limits for nibbling shears and for combined punching and shearing machines. The limits are expressed both as sound power levels and as sound pressure levels emitted by the machine. The standard applies to those two kinds of press shop equipment. The Chinese classification J62 places it with forging and pressing machinery and the international heading 25.120.10 with presses and shears. It refers to JB 3623-1984, and it took the place of the earlier ZB J62006.4-1987. It was issued on 1 January 1999.
