JB/T 8817-2014 was issued by MIIT on 6 May 2014 and has been in force since 1 October 2014.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8817-1998.
2 Scope
This standard is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for brake linings fitted to construction machinery. It fixes the requirements for both dry and wet linings, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage. Dry and wet brake linings used on construction machines are its subject, and linings on other machinery may be handled in the same way. It quotes the friction material standards JC/T 527, JC/T 528, JC/T 685 and GB 5763, while GB/T 1040.1, GB/T 1041, GB/T 2828.1, GB/T 2829 and GB/T 191 serve the testing, sampling and marking. It replaces JB/T 8817-1998.
