JB/T 8789-2010 is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for gauges of 1:24 tapers. It sets the requirements for these gauges and the test methods, marking and packaging that go with them. It applies to gauges used in checking the 1:24 taper, named for the spindle ends of bevel gear grinding machines and milling machines and for the mating and cutter setting tooling used with them. It replaces JB/T 8789-1998, an edition listed under the title 1:24 (UG) taper gauge, and it quotes GB/T 11852-2003. Issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, it carries Chinese classification J42 with international classification 17.040.30.
