Scope
JB/T 7796-2017 is the English-translated version of 弹簧拉压试验机.
JB/T 7796-2017 is the Chinese machinery industry standard for tension and compression spring testing machines: the machines that load a spring in tension or in compression and measure the force against the deflection, so that the stiffness, the load at a given length and the permanent set of the spring can be established.
The standard specifies the terms and definitions, the main parameter series, the technical requirements, the inspection methods, the inspection rules and the marking and packaging of these machines.
The parameter series is the part that matters commercially: it fixes the ladder of nominal force capacities a manufacturer may offer, so that a spring works to the same rated machine wherever it is tested.
It is applied together with GB/T 2611 on the general requirements for testing machines, GB/T 13634 on the calibration of the force-proving instruments used to verify uniaxial testing machines, and JB/T 6147 on the packaging, package marking, storage and transport of testing machines.
It was issued on 12 April 2017 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and has been in force since 1 January 2018, replacing JB/T 7796-2005. It is filed under CCS N 75; the official record carries no ICS number for it.

Foreword
This document was issued on 12 April 2017 by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China and has been in force since 1 January 2018.
It replaces JB/T 7796-2005, Tension and compression spring testing machines, which in turn replaced JB/T 7796-1995.
It was announced in Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Bulletin 2017 No. 14 and filed under Industry Standard Filing Announcement 2017 No. 6 (total No. 210). Classification: CCS N 75.
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, the main parameter series, the technical requirements, the inspection methods, the inspection rules and the marking and packaging of tension and compression spring testing machines.
