1 Foreword

JB/T 7538-2016 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 5 April 2016 and has been in force since 1 September 2016.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 7538-1994.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on basket strainers for pipelines carrying a liquid medium. It sets the structural types and basic parameters, the product designation, the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, and then marking, transport, packaging and storage. It applies to strainers for pipelines of nominal size DN40 to DN1000, or NPS 1 1/2 to NPS 40, with a design pressure from 0.25 MPa to 10.0 MPa and a liquid medium temperature from -20 °C to 350 °C.
