JB/T 6488.3-1992 is the Chinese machinery industry recommended standard for epoxy glass powder mica tape, one part of the JB/T 6488 series on mica tapes. It fixes the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules for this electrical insulating tape, together with its marking, packaging, transport and storage. The tape it describes is built on mica paper bonded with an epoxy adhesive and reinforced on both faces with alkali-free electrical glass cloth; it remains flexible at normal temperature, carries its adhesive in the B stage, and is finally cured after being applied. Its normative references are GB 5019, GB 5020 and GB 11026.1, and it carries Chinese classification K15. Issued on 6 August 1992, it has applied since 1 January 1993.
