1 Foreword

JB/T 6016.1-2008 was issued by MIIT on 1 February 2008 and has been in force since 1 July 2008.

It is one of 5 parts of the JB/T 6016 series.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on the metallographic examination of piston rings for internal combustion engines. It deals with the individually cast cast-iron rings, setting out both the test method for the microstructure and the way the result is assessed. Its field is the examination of the microstructure of such cast rings in engines with a cylinder diameter of 160 mm or less. The document carries the Chinese classification J92 and the international classification 27.020, was issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and is recorded as superseding the older standard JB/T 6016-1992. It quotes GB/T 7216.
