1 Foreword

JB/T 5993-2013 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 31 December 2013 and has been in force since 1 July 2014.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 5993-1992.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended machinery industry standard of China setting out the test methods for pipe fittings. It names the test items for these fittings and the rules under which the checks are carried out and used. The fittings it applies to are bite-type fittings, flared fittings and flat-gland fittings, and the checks concern their dimensions and their geometric accuracy. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 1216-2004, GB/T 1219-2008, GB/T 1957-2006, GB/T 3934-2003, GB/T 6315-2008, GB/T 8177-2004, GB/T 10922-2006, GB/T 12716-2011 and JB/T 10031. It replaces JB/T 5993-1992. The document carries Chinese classification J15 and international classification 23.060.40, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it.
