JB/T 4394-2016 is the English-translated version of 稀土镁硅合金 稀土总量、硅、总镁和氧化镁的化学分析方法.
JB/T 4394-2016 is the Chinese machinery industry standard for the chemical analysis of rare earth magnesium silicon alloys, covering total rare earth, silicon, total magnesium and magnesia.
Among the methods it lays down are the chlorophosphonazo III photometric method, the oxalate gravimetric method and the EDTA volumetric method for total rare earth, a volumetric determination of silicon, the azochlorine I photometric method, a separation with copper reagent followed by EDTA complexometric titration, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.

1 Foreword
JB/T 4394-2016 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 15 January 2016 and has been in force since 1 June 2016.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 4394-1999.
2 Scope
This standard is the Chinese machinery industry standard for the chemical analysis of rare earth magnesium silicon alloys, covering total rare earth, silicon, total magnesium and magnesia.
