1 Foreword

JB/T 2231.3-2011 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 18 May 2011 and has been in force since 1 August 2011.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 2231.3-1999.

It is one of 9 parts of the JB/T 2231 series.

2 Scope

This standard is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard dealing with thin-walled bearing shells among the parts and subassemblies of reciprocating piston compressors. It gives the terms, definitions and symbols for these shells, their basic dimensions and structural elements, the technical requirements, the test items and test methods, the inspection rules, and the rules for marking, packaging and storage. The shells it covers are the solid alloy, bimetal and trimetal kinds for compressors whose crank pin or journal diameter runs from 52 mm to 480 mm, and a ceiling is also set on the ratio between shell wall thickness and diameter. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 699, GB/T 1174, GB/T 18326 and QC/T 281. It supersedes JB/T 2231.3-1999.
