Part 1 of the series on double column grinding machines using wide coated abrasive belts deals with testing of the accuracy of the machine. It addresses the double column (gantry) type of belt grinding machine and the way its accuracy is checked.

The part is used by machine tool manufacturers when they inspect machines before delivery, by buyers who check accuracy at acceptance, and by metrology and test staff who carry out the inspection. It is voluntary, as the /T in the code shows. It was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, issued on 1 June 2026 and takes effect on 1 December 2026. It is a new standard.
