JB/T 12665-2016 is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard on vacuum insulated cryogenic pipes and their fittings. It applies to rigid stainless steel cryogenic pipes of vacuum multilayer insulated construction whose inner pipe has a design pressure of no more than 4.0 MPa and a design temperature no lower than -196 °C, with nominal diameters from 25 mm to 100 mm, ambient temperatures from -40 °C to 60 °C and media such as liquefied natural gas, liquid oxygen and liquid argon.
Pipes outside those pressure and diameter figures may be treated in the same way.

What this standard covers
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, design, manufacture, inspection methods, inspection rules, factory requirements, packaging, transportation and storage of rigid vacuum insulated low temperature tubes and their fittings (hereinafter referred to as low temperature pipes). This standard applies to the design pressure of the inner tube is not more than 4.0 MPa, the design temperature is not lower than -196°C, the nominal diameter is 25mm ~ 100mm, the ambient temperature is -40°C ~ 60 �� The conveying medium is liquefied natural gas, liquid oxygen, Liquid argon and so on, and the use of vacuum multi-layer insulation structure of stainless steel rigid low temperature tube. The design of the inner tube pressure greater than 4.0 MPa, nominal diameter of less than 25 mm or greater than 100 mm low temperature tube can also refer to the implementation of this standard.
