Scope

JB/T 12632-2016 is the English-translated version of 光纤激光器.

Fiber lasers are covered by JB/T 12632-2016, a mechanical industry standard filed under number 53588-2016.

It specifies the terms and definitions, the classification, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on markings, packaging, transportation and storage for fiber lasers, which the text simply calls lasers.

The scope is the development, production and delivery of such lasers.

The terms are drawn from existing vocabulary standards, with a fiber laser defined as a laser that uses a fiber doped with activated particles as the laser medium, and the test chapter relies on the usual environmental tests for cold, dry heat, damp heat, shock, bump and sinusoidal vibration.

The standard was issued on 15 January 2016, took effect on 1 June 2016 and was published for the first time.
