Double-action horizontal extrusion presses for ferrous metals are the subject of JB/T 12470-2015, a recommended machinery industry standard. It applies to horizontal double-action presses used to extrude tube, bar and sections in carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, superalloys and refractory metals in the hot state, built with a prestressed frame, driven either directly by hydraulic pumps or by a pump and accumulator arrangement using mineral hydraulic oil as the working medium, with a working pressure between 25 MPa and 31.5 MPa. It was issued on 10 October 2015 and took effect on 1 March 2016.
