1 Foreword

JB/T 12066-2014 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 9 July 2014 and has been in force since 1 November 2014.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard guiding the choice of cap and pin insulators for polluted areas at high altitude. It gives the method for deciding how many disc suspension units, porcelain or glass, are needed on AC and DC transmission systems where pollution and altitude act together, and it applies from 1000 m to 5500 m. Pollution severity and insulator test documents are quoted, namely GB/T 311.2-2013, GB/T 2900.5, GB/T 2900.8, GB/T 4585-2004, GB/T 14597-2010, GB/T 16927.1-2011, GB/T 22707-2008, GB/T 26218.1-2010 and DL/T 368-2010. Its classifications are K04 and 29.020.
