It specifies the product classification and the basic parameters of the plug device, the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transport and storage, and it governs the design, manufacture and testing of devices whose rated current does not exceed 125 A. It does not apply to equipment for places where flammable gas and combustible dust may occur together or separately, to dusts that ignite or self-ignite without atmospheric oxygen, or to coal mine equipment endangered by firedamp or combustible dust, and hazards from toxic or flammable gas given off by the dust are not considered.
