2 Technical requirements

2.33 c) When starting a train or shunting, the locomotive shall withstand a longitudinal impact force of 1,5 to 2 times its adhesive weight; d) the force applied when removing the axle-box support plate and jacking one end of the bogie shall not cause deformation or mechanical damage that affects the normal working of the motor.

2.34 The ventilation of the locomotive shall meet the ventilation requirements of the traction motors.

2.35 The locomotive shall be fitted with a sanding device.

2.36 At the doors, windows, roof, covers and similar openings of the locomotive there shall be no ingress of rain or snow that would damage the insulation or affect the normal working of the locomotive.

2.37 The noise in the driver's cab, with the locomotive running at or below its continuous speed and all continuously working sets in operation, shall not exceed 85 dB(A); for intermittent noise the correction of Table 2 is permitted: for a cumulative noise time of 6 % of the total time, +10 dB(A); 1,5 %, +15 dB(A); 0,5 %, +20 dB(A); 0,1 %, +25 dB(A); 0,02 %, +30 dB(A).

3 Test and acceptance rules

3.1 Type test: a type test shall be carried out in any of the following cases: a) appraisal and type approval of a new product, which shall have completed 5 000 km of industrial service before approval; b) a major change in the design, the manufacturing process or the materials of the product, when a partial or complete type test shall be carried out; c) periodically for products in series production, the interval being laid down in the product specification.

3.2 Works test: every product shall undergo a works test and may leave the works only after passing it.

3.3 The test items are those of Table 3: clearance gauge check; measurement of the working range and pressure of the pantograph; measurement of coupler height; weighing, comprising the adhesive weight, the axle load and the wheel load of the locomotive; running test through the minimum permitted curve radius; operating test of the automatic brake; measurement of the braking distance of the locomotive alone; measurement of the headlight beam distance; air-tightness test of the air pipe system; insulation and dielectric strength test of the electrical equipment; inspection and operating test of the electrical circuits; setting and operating test of the protective devices; operating test of the safety interlocks; tractive performance test F = f(V); and rheostatic braking performance test B = f(V).
