1 Foreword

JB 4743-2000 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 24 April 2000 and has been in force since 30 September 2000.

2 Scope

This standard covers nickel-copper alloy forgings intended for use in pressure vessels. It specifies the shapes in which the forgings are supplied, the technical requirements they have to meet, the test methods used to verify them, the inspection rules, and the provisions on packaging, marking and the quality certificate that accompanies the product. The standard applies to forgings used in the manufacture of pressure vessels. Because the forgings are pressure-retaining parts, the standard is read together with the general rules on pressure vessel materials and non-destructive testing, which it cites as normative references.
