1 Foreword
HY/T 071-2017 was issued by State Oceanic Administration on 21 February 2017 and has been in force since 1 June 2017.
It replaces the earlier edition HY/T 071-2003.
2 Scope
This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules and signs of surface drifting buoys. This standard applies to the use of Argos data acquisition and positioning system (hereinafter referred to as "Argos system") or Beidou satellite navigation system (to Hereinafter referred to as "Beidou System") surface drifting buoy for positioning and data transmission.
