HG/T 5819-2020 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard that sets the energy consumption quota per unit of product for magnesium oxide and the method of calculating it. It gives the technical requirements, the statistical scope and statistical requirements, the calculation methods, and provisions on energy-saving management and energy-saving technologies. It applies to light-burned magnesia made from magnesite or magnesium hydroxide, and to industrial and silicon-steel-grade magnesium oxide made from dolomite, brine, magnesium hydroxide or light-burned magnesia, whose unit energy consumption it allows to be calculated, controlled and assessed. GB/T 2589-2008, GB 17167, GB 18613, GB 19153, GB 19761, GB 19762, GB 20052 and further GB methods are quoted with it. Issued on 9 December 2020, it has applied since 1 April 2021.
