HG/T 4871-2016 is the Chinese chemical industry standard for tert-butyl peroxybenzoate of industrial grade. It sets the requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the provisions on marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety, the last of these mattering for an organic peroxide. Its scope is the industrial product obtained by oxidation and condensation from tert-butyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide and benzoyl chloride, used mainly as a crosslinking agent for unsaturated polyester and rubber and as an initiator for polymerisation. The standard carries the Chinese classification G17 and the international classification 71.080.99. It quotes GB 190, GB/T 191, GB/T 601, GB/T 602, GB/T 603, GB 3143, GB/T 6283, GB/T 6678, GB/T 6680, GB/T 6682, GB/T 8170 and GB/T 9722. Issued on 15 January 2016, it has applied since 1 July 2016.
