HG/T 4554-2013 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard that describes how the activity of high temperature carbon monoxide shift catalysts is tested under pressure. It is written for catalysts used in ammonia plants running on coal, oil, natural gas or other feedstocks, and also in methanol synthesis and hydrogen production units where steam shifts carbon monoxide. The document is confined to the activity measurement rather than to the requirements for the catalyst as a product. It works with GB/T 6003.1 and HG/T 3546, the two standards it quotes. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued it under Chinese classification G74 and international classification 71.100.99. Issued on 17 October 2013, it has applied since 1 March 2014.
