HG/T 4483-2012 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard for 4-methylpyridine of industrial grade, a compound of formula C6H7N with a relative molecular mass of 93.13. It covers the preparation of the product, the test methods, the inspection rules, and the signs, packaging, transport, storage and safety arrangements. Its scope is 4-methylpyridine synthesised industrially from raw materials such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde and ammonia.
