HG/T 4475-2012 is a recommended chemical industry standard of China for industrial ethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether. It gives the requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, and it covers marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety. The product concerned is obtained by catalytic reaction of n-butanol with ethylene oxide; its molecular formula is C6H14O2 and its relative molecular mass 118.17. The standard does not set out to describe every safety issue connected with the use of the substance, and the user remains responsible for suitable safety and health measures and for national regulations. It quotes GB 190, GB/T 601, GB/T 3143, GB/T 3723, GB/T 6283, GB/T 6678, GB/T 6682, GB/T 7534 and GB/T 9722. Issued on 28 December 2012, it has applied since 1 June 2013.
