HG/T 4164-2010 is the English-translated version of 纺织染整助剂 pH值的测定.
HG/T 4164-2010 is the Chinese chemical industry standard that sets out how the pH value of textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries is determined. The measurement is potentiometric: a glass electrode and a saturated calomel electrode are immersed in an aqueous solution of the auxiliary, and the potential difference between the two electrodes gives the pH of that solution. The method applies to water-soluble textile dyeing and finishing auxiliaries of every type. It falls under Chinese classification G56 and international classification 71.100.40, surface-active agents. It quotes GB/T 6682-2008 and GB/T 8170-2008. Issued on 22 November 2010, it has applied since 1 March 2011.
