HG/T 4015-2008 is the recommended Chinese chemical industry standard that gives the general method for determining the pH range over which an acid-base indicator changes colour. It covers the preparation of the buffer solutions the determination requires, the preparation and the pH of the indicator solutions themselves, and the procedure by which the colour transition range is established. The method is written for acid-base indicators supplied as chemical reagents, and the individual indicator standards of the same series refer back to it. Only two documents are quoted, GB/T 601 and GB/T 603, both on the preparation of solutions. It replaces the national standard GB/T 604-2002. Issued on 23 April 2008, it has applied since 1 October 2008.
